Street Art in Paris - Where to find mosaics by street artist In The Woup in Paris

Discover In The Woup

Lyon-based artist IN THE WOUP has been creating pixel art mosaics for 15 years. These are not Space Invaders. You won't get points with the FlashInvaders mobile game by scanning them. But, as we love his work, we're delighted to present it here so you can learn to recognize a "real" IN THE WOUP rather than calling them "fake" Space Invaders.

In fact, its concept is quite different from INVADER's, and can be summed up in a funny and promising pitch: "What if Mario Bros had more costumes? Like a lot more..."

IN THE WOUP is, according to the artist's official website: 12 countries; 53 cities; 185 mosaics and... 0 arrests 🙂

Among these, we invite you to discover in video - a little further down - the 11 mosaics stuck in Paris. 9 of them were stuck in mid-July 2024. They highlight French sport and culture. A very special series to decorate the streets of Paris in the run-up to the Olympic Games. And we're delighted to see costumed Mario back at Galerie Montorgueil in the form of mosaics, posters and magnets, so you can return from Paris with the perfect souvenir.

To discover these mosaics in the street and learn all about street-art, pixel art and pop culture from a passionate guide, follow Camille on her "Street-art & Space Invaders in the Marais" guided tours.
